These are a must have for doing gearcase work on the Johnson / Evinrude, OMC, or Volvo gearcases with the 2 large snap rings.  There may be other snap ring pliers on the market that may work but these will make short work of those snap rings.  Simply stick the tips into the snap ring, squeeze the pliers and they automatically lock to hold the snap ring compressed for easy removal.  This is the best tool for the job!
